Saturday, at the conclusion of the 5th Forum of Social Policy, Palazzo Reale (Milan) hosted a ceremony to give thanks to the realities of the Third sector who contribute, through their activities, to “the citizen welfare”.
The projects awarded during the event – of private, associations or companies engaged in different spheres of society – were 53. Among them there was also “our” Pasto Buono, an initiative against food wastage born in Genoa nine years ago and activated in Milan for just over a year.
After one year, I can confirm it: Milan is indeed a friendly city with regard to those who work in the social. A place, where we found a lot of support from other non-profit organization and associations. The spirit of solidarity and sharing – that was possible to feel also at Palazzo Reale during the awards ceremony – has allowed Pasto Buono to grow quickly. Today QUI Foundation combats food waste and hunger in Milan alongside Caritas Ambrosiana, City of Angels, and, from a few weeks now, also the Mia Foundation.
The collaboration allows recovering hundreds of free meals to the needy every week. A goal that QUI foundation could not achieved alone. I would then like to share the certificate handed over by the councillor for social policy Pierfrancesco Majorino with the other realities that helped us made this possible.
